We ask that you and your group be aware of the following rules while visiting the Museum. Failure to comply will result in the group being asked to leave the Museum:
- Do enjoy the artwork.
- Do not touch the artwork. Natural acids and oils in your skin can cause damage and disintegration to the artwork on display. Remember the acids and oils in your skin easily damage sculpture also.
- Do ask questions.
- Discussion is encouraged, but please be considerate of others sharing the gallery.
- Do enjoy your visit.
- Food and drink are not permitted in the galleries.
- Ink pens are not permitted in the galleries. Ink is notoriously difficult to remove from artwork and gallery walls. Ink can damage artwork and cause costly repairs.
- Do use pencils.
- Please do not use the gallery walls as a writing surface. Clipboards are available at the front desk.
- No running! An arm’s length away from the artwork is a good rule.
- Photography is not permitted in the Museum. The camera flash can damage some delicate works of art on paper by prematurely fading the pigments.
- Do not lean against the walls or pedestals used to display the artwork.
- Do not climb on the outdoor sculpture.
- Chaperones are required in ratios of 1:5 for children under 8 and 1:8 for children 8 and above.
