Richard Koppe

September 6, 2014 - January 11, 2015

Opening reception: September 12, 2014 at 6:30pm

This fall, in cooperation with the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), Elmhurst Art Museum presents the first museum exhibition of Richard Koppe's inventive work in more than forty years. Including 70 rarely seen paintings, prints and drawings, the exhibition highlights Koppe's signature canvases from the mid-20th century - from his earlier compositions of stylized fish and birds to his distinctive versions of abstract expressionism and hard-edge abstraction.

In the House: Laura Davis

September 13, 2014 – January 11, 2015

Opening reception: September 12, 2014 at 6:30 pm

Continuing our lively exploration and use of the Mies van der Rohe-designed McCormick House from 1952, EAM is premiering an ongoing exhibition series called “In the House.” On a regular basis, artists, designers and architects will be invited to respond to the modernist structure by producing a site-specific installation in the house that takes into consideration its unique space and history. The first artist invited to participate in EAM’s new “In the House” series is Laura Davis, a Chicago-based artist whose sculpture and installations examine the intersection of craft, design and art.
