Inspired by Warhol
Jun 11th–Jul 28th 2023Andy Warhol was one of the most iconic artists of the 20th century. During the summer of 2023, the Cleve Carney Museum of Art in Glen Ellyn will display an important exhibit, Andy Warhol Portfolios: A Life in Pop. In conjunction with that display, the Elmhurst Artists' Guild will exhibit local art inspired by the work of Andy Warhol.
Andy Warhol’s large body of work focused on six themes: celebrity, consumerism, money, death and dying, identity, and animals. He is best known for his distinctive style, his image, and his tremendous voice in pop culture and the art world. The Elmhurst Artists’ Guild will exhibit artworks that somehow reference Warhol’s work while also honoring each artist’s own aesthetic.
